NPC ALABAMA DISTRICT RULES & REGULATIONS
Competition Divisions for the Zone
OPEN - Athlete that has won an overall Junior Division or that has placed 1-5 in an Open Division.
JUNIOR - Athlete that has never won an Overall Junior Division or placed 1-5 in an Open Division.
NOVICE - Athlete that has never competed in an NPC contest, FIRST TIME COMPETITOR
TEENAGE - Athlete that has not had his or her 20th birthday by the day of the show.
MASTERS - Athlete that has had his or her 40th birthday by the day of the show.
GRAND MASTERS - Athlete that has had his or her 50th birthday by the day of the show.
OLD NAVY - Athlete that has had his or her 60th birthday by the day of the show.
FIGURE MASTERS - Any female athlete that has reached her 35th birthday by the day of the show.
CROSSOVERS : Teenage and Masters (over 40, 50, 60) are the only athletes that may cross over into Open and Junior divisions. Masters may not cross over into other Masters division, for example, and the over 50 can not compete in the over 40 and over 50 division.
Fitness and figure may crossover, but women bodybuilders may not cross over into fitness and figure and fitness and figure may not cross into women’s bodybuilding.

TWO CLASSES

THREE CLASSES
| Men : | Light weight - up to and including 165 ¼ Middle weight- over 165 ¼ and up to and including 187 ¼ Heavy weight- over 187 ¼ |
| Women : | Light weight- up to and including 125 Middle weight -over 125 and up to and including 140 Heavy weight- over 140 |
FOUR CLASSES
| Men : | Light weight- over 143 ¼ up to and including 154 ¼ Middle weight- over 154 ¼ up to and including 176 ¼ Light heavy weight- over 176 ¼ up to and including 198 ¼ Heavy weight -over 198 ¼ |
| Women : | Lightweight - Up to and including 115 Middleweight - Over 115 and up to and including 125 Light Heavyweight - Over 125 and up to and including 140 Heavyweight - Over 140 |

Men’s Welterweight Class for USA and National Championships

| Lightweight : | over 143-¼ lbs. to & including 154-¼ lbs |
| *Welterweight : | over 154-¼ lbs. to & including 165-¼ lbs |
| Middleweight : | over 165-¼ lbs. up to & including 176-¼ lbs |
| Light-Heavyweight : | over 176-¼ lbs. up to & including 198-¼ lbs |
| Heavyweight : | over 198-¼ lbs up to & including 225-¼ |
| Superheavyweight : | over 225-¼ |
*The welterweight is optional at local, regional and national qualifying events.
